TMP117: I2C Functions

Part Number: TMP117

Hello Team,

I have a customer that has downloaded TMP117 eval software and it has a code generator module that generates basic read, write, and init functions for the TMP117.

They were wondering if we could share with them the i2c functions (init, read, write) used to establish communication between the microcontroller and the TMP117. Please let me know if that is possible.

Thanks!

  • Hi Lindsey,

    Thank you for your post.

I believe the intent of this code is to provide users with a framework for easily configuring the TMP117, but would require the user to write or provide their own functions for I2C since these will depend on the microcontroller.

Let me check with my team to verify and get back to you on this.

    Best Regards,
    Brandon Fisher

  • Hi Lindsey,

The latest version of TMP117EVM_GUI on dev.ti.com features a code generator prototype that we were considering offering in all future EVM GUI releases from the Temperature and Humidity Sensor product line.

As Brandon said, the generated code is meant to be completed by the user. It only provides an outline of code that may be used to interact with TMP117. It's outside the scope of our team to code support for any particular I2C host.

In the future,we are planning to release a similar code generation tool in collaboration with TI's SimpleLink team. It will be a stand-alone tool that generates code for TI's SimpleLink microcontrollers.

    thanks,

    ren
