DCA1000EVM: Configure udp-packet size

Hi,

I have a related question on the "DCA1000EVM: Expected packet loss rate?" post.

I want to change the udp-package size by useing the udp command CONFIG_PACKET_DATA_CMD_CODE. In wireshark I can see my message beeing sent out to the DCA1000. I also get a response with no errors. But the package size is not changed. Is it possible to change the udp package size at all?

The message in Wireshark looks like this: 5aa50b000600000000320200aaee

This is the response of the DCA1000: 5aa50b000000aaee

The red marked part is telling that everything should be allright. I also tried to change the message with its endianess, but nothing seems to change the package size.

Hi Cesar,

thank you for your response. Why is there an option to change the size when it does not work?

Does the package delay in the same command have an effect? Or does it also not work?

Please refer to the documentation provided in mmWave Studio version 2.1 regarding the commands for the DCA1000.

Specifically, look at the DCA1000EVM_CLI_Control.exe record command. This is found in section 2.3.7 of the Software Developer Guide.

thank you for the information and the link to the documents. I just want to recap before I'll close the thread:

- It is not possible to change the udp-package size although it is listed in the documentation in section 2.3.7

Name	Data Type	Number of Bytes	Default Value	Min value	Max value	Description
Packet Size	UINT16	2	1472	48	1472	Packet size

- But it is possible to change the package delay wich is also mentioned within the same table in section 2.3.7

Delay	UINT16	2	25	5	500	Inter-packet delay

Can you confirm that this assumption is right?

By the way: I don´t want to use the cli-commands to send my request. In fact I'm sending my request via udp direct to the DCA.
