IWR6843ISK: Uniflash failure and Visualiser not connecting

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST, , UNIFLASH

Hi,

I have a IWR6843ISK board connected to a MMWAVEICBOOST motherboard.
I have downloaded and installed mmwavesdk_03_03_00_03 and Uniflash version 5.2.0.2519

I am following MMWAVE SDK User Guide - Product Release 3.3 - Release Date: Sept 17, 2019 - Document Version: 1.0

I have set the SOP jumpers to:
SOP0 = 1, SOP1 =0, SOP2=1 for flash programming mode as per page 32-33 of the user guide

I have power cycled the board with the USB cables disconnected.

I power the board and press the NRST button

I connect the XDS110 USB to my PC and two COM ports appear in the device manager (XDS110 Class Application/User UART as COM14, and XDS110 Class Auxiliary Data Pot as COM13)

I launch Uniflash application, select IWR6843ISk from the choice of devices and press the start button.

I navigate to the Settings & Utilities tab and enter COM14 as the COM port (target memory selection SFLASH)

I navigate back to the Program tab, tick the MetaImage1 tickbox, and click browse. I select xwr68xx_mmw_demo.bin (495.75kB) in the folder C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_03_00_03\packages\ti\demo\xwr68xx\mmw

The flash write completes correctly (Console message: [21/11/2019 12:18:26] [SUCCESS] Program Load completed successfully)
I close Uniflash application.

I disconnect the USB cable from my PC, unpower the dev board, then remove the SOP2 jumper (SOP0 jumper remains in place). This selects functional mode as per the user guide p32/33.

I repower the board. I attach the XDS110 USB cable to my PCB and the COM ports reappear.

I attach the FTDI USB cable to the dev board and my PC. Another 4 COM ports appear. (no warning triangles on any of these COM ports or the previous two)

On attaching the FTDI USB cable the LED D4 lights (note that the DS2 LED has been illuminated through this procedure and the flashing procedure)

I launch the mmWave visualiser at https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/mmwave/mmWave_Demo_Visualizer/ver/3.3.0/ (it has already installed the add-ons to my Chrome browser in previous attempts)

I close the pop up text box window, I select "xWR68xx" for the platform, and set the SDK version to "3.3"

I go to Options -> Serial Port and select COM14 as CFG_port and COM13 as DATA_port (see COM port allocations above)

On the main screen, at the bottom corner I get the following:

- COM14 is connected.

- COM13 never connects and just stays as "waiting for data" indefinitely

- Pressing "SEND CONFIG DATA TO DEVICE" does nothing and no output is sent to the visualizer console, no information is plotted on the plot panes either.

This seems to be a common issue looking at other help threads and one which none of the previous threads seem to offer a consistent fix.
I have been through the process of pressing the NRST switch at various stages etc. Nothing helps.

What should I be doing differently?

Many Thanks,

Andrew
