IWR6843: Trouble using mmWave Demo Visualizer with IWR6843AOPEVM

Hi,

You need to install some extensions to be able for the serial ports to show up,  you also need to install the drivers for the USB to UART connector.

Can you confirm that you have done that?

Yes I have done these necessary installations. Extension: TICloudAgent Bridge and drivers: SICP2105 drivers both are installed. And I have also tried installing XDS110 emulator if that could help. Still facing this below error:

Could not launch TI Cloud Agent: Failed to start TICloudAgent: Specified native messaging host not found.. Please perform the actions listed below and try your operation again. 

Let me know if any other installations are needed. However I could test both serial ports using Teraterm by manually sending configuration, but could not make out anything from the data in response and so need the plot utility on mmWave demo visualizer to make sense of data. Screen shoots attached.

Tried using Firefox as well, didn't help, same behaviour.

Also tried disabling antivirus protection, didn't make any difference.

I know it is supposed to be simple and straight forward but if you can suggest anything else that can be tried.

I just got my hands on the IWR6843AOPEVM board and indeed it lacks the XDS110 Debug Probe. However, according to the process described in the MMWAVE SDK Demo - 68xx AOP, you don't need it. I was able to flash the demo firmware using Uniflash but I couldn't get past the connection phase. 

At this point I am unsure if this is a Cloud Agent issue or a demo issue (maybe it expects some acknowledgement signal to be sent back), thus I am investigating this further. 

Could you enable the logs and send them to this thread? Information about this is shown at section 3.4 of the TI Cloud Agent page at:

Hi,

I did some additional tests and I suspect the issue is somehow with the device driver itself. I am unable to open the two COM ports simultaneously - one always fails. 

I am using Silabs drivers v10.1.8 (downloaded from here) and Windows 10 build 1809.

I will try to get some additional information and report back in case I find anything relevant.
