Hi,
I try to run some tirex-labs (via firmware build from Source Code for use with the MMWAVEICBOOST board).
But the two boards do not fit together very well. The EMC cover of the IWR6843AOPEVM collide with the J17 connector of the MMWAVEICBOOST board mechanically (details appended). I also receive an error message when trying to connect to the DSS Target C674X_0 (connection to MSS R4_0 works fine):
"""
CS_DAP_0: GEL Output: --->> DSS is under application controlled reset. Prior to connecting this reset must be released.
CS_DAP_0: GEL Output: --->> The debugger will enable "Halt On Reset" and release the application-extended reset
CS_DAP_0: GEL Output: --->> "Halt On Reset" has been enabled on the C674X_0CS_DAP_0: GEL Output: --->> ERROR : timeout while waiting for DSS to power on
C674X_0: Error connecting to the target: (Error -6305) PRSC module failed to write to a router register. (Emulation package 8.3.0.00003)
"""
I'm just wondering, is this because the EVM can't put correctly into the connector?
Best regards,
Ruben

Hi Ruben,
I've asked an expert to look into this and we should have an answer for you in the next few days.

Hi Ruben,
Could you please remove the heatsink from the IWR6843AOPEVM to make sure it is seated properly and then try to connect with CCS? Please also make sure that you have the switches on the AOP EVM setup in MMWAVEICBOOST mode as detailed in the section 4.6.2 of MMWAVEICBOOST and Antenna Module user guide.
Thanks
-Nitin
Hi Nitin,
Thanks. Yes, I could execute the lab successfully now.
for a better understanding: the heatsink is just a precaution? I could not find any information about thermal characteristics (thermal resistance etc.). Are the IWR6843AOPEVM thermal conditions more critical than IWR6843 (without AoP)?
best regards, Ruben
