IWR6843AOPEVM: COM Port not detected

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843AOPEVM, MMWAVEICBOOST

We have set up IWR6843AOPEVM and MMWAVEICBOOST according to EVM guide and mmwave_sdk_user_guide.But there are some issues as follow:

1)Only connected IWR6843AOPEVM with USB, PC don't detect Com port;

2)Connected XDS110_USB and FTDI_USB of MMWAVEICBOOST and IWR6843AOPEVM with USB, PC don't detect the Com port;

3)Connected MMWAVEICBOOST and IWR6843AOPEVM with XDS110 emulator, Com port can be detected but  the light of NERR is shining.

We already installed the XDS100 driver and checked jumped on board.

  • Hi,

    1. Did you install the CP2105 Drivers when trying to use only the IWR6843AOPEVM?
    2. When using only the IWR6843AOPEVM, can you confirm you are using the right USB port, USB1 behind the sensor.
    3. What is the rating of the power supply used with the MMWAVEICBOOST? the recommendation is 5V 3A
    4. Do you have another IWR6843AOPEVM or MMWAVEICBOOST, can you check which board the failure is tracking?

  • Dear Charles,

    1.I‘m sure the CP2105 Driver is installed correctly.

    2.I'm using USB1 port,but the IWR6843AOPEVM didn't worked.Beacuse the temperature of board didn't change.

    3.The power supply is as follow:

    4.I suspect USB port is broken beacuse PC can detecte Com port with XDS110

  • Hi,

    From the picture of the setup it appears the AOPEVM is not getting power cos none of the LED is lit. Can you please share the picture of the setup in standalone mode, with the USB connected and a screen shot of the device manager.

    Additionally, there is a different S1 switch configuration for using the 14 pin JTAG header so the XDS110 emulator is not expected to work with the current setup.

    BR,

    Charles O

  • Hi,
