Hi,

I have two IWR6843-ISK ES1.0 EVM and I use mmwave sdk 3.3 with toolbox 4.0.1 to build an application based on ppl counting demo. I added a cli function which does soft reset by writing the value in the system reset register. I flashed the bin file to IWR6843-ISK ES2.0 and it worked with any issue. However, it hangs and not loading ES1.0 when device power up. I found out that pressing RST button could make it work.

I have tried to flash the prebuild binary in the toolbox 4.0.1, 3.6.2, 3.4 as well as rebuild it with SDK 3.3, 3.2.0.4, 3.1. The issue is still there no matter what version of binary I used. I also followed the link below to recompile SDK 3.2. No luck on that.

Hi Hank,

The ES1.0 device will not work with anything developed using SDK 3.3 or above. Please try the OOB demo to confirm the device is not working (SDK 3.2 or below).

Hi Justin,

I have tried SDK3.2 and 3.1 as well as prebuilt binary file from toolbox3.6, 3.4. All of them has the same issue. Before I flashed SDK3.3 ppl count demo, all older version worked. I flashed SDK3.2 HW DPS demo. It still has the same issue.

Hi Hank,

In your original post, you said that pressing the reset button makes the device work. Do you mean that when you flash the device, you have to reset afterwards to make the device work?

Otherwise, when you have the device on is there any output on the UART Com port? If you connect to the UART COM port with a utility like tera term, you should see the mmWave prompt come up (assuming baudrate 115200).
