DRV5055: About frequency characteristic @DRV5055

Part Number: DRV5055

Hi team

Our customer is considering using high speed hole sensor for measuring instrument.

The datasheet says sensing frequency of this device is 20kHz.

I want the graph of this frequency characteristic (frequency vs gain).

Do you have any data?

And, the customer intends to use other product than this device which sensing frequency is 100kHz.

We try to replace to TI's product.

Do you have any information about the reriase of hole sensor with sensing frequency equal to 100kHz or around.

Best regards.

  • Hello Teritama-san,

There is no plot of frequency vs gain because the sensor gain does not change with the rotation speed of the magnet, and the sensor always run as the same frequency.  That being said, if the magnet is spinning faster than the device can sample, then the device will not be able to measure all of the positions of the magnet.

We do not currently have any linear Hall sensors that can sample at 100kHz, but if you only need 20kHz then our device will still work fine for you.

  • Hi Mitch.

    Thank you for your answer.

I understand there are no hole sensor which sensing frequency is around 100kHz.

    I have other question.

I recognize sensing bandwidth of this device is internal precision amplifier's bandwidth,is this correct?

    best regards

  • Hello Teritama-san,

The sensing bandwidth is the frequency that the device samples the magnetic field.  The device then adjusts the output accordingly.
