AWR1843BOOST: Error : MMWDemoDSS Unable to open the ADCBUF driver

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, AWR1843

I need to run lab 10 in the automotive toolbox which named " lab0010_occupancy_vitalsigns_detection" on AWR1843 EVM. When I used the bin file of AWR1642 attached with the lab, it flashes and works but the results are not accurate due to the change in antennas and configurations between AWR1642 and AWR1843 EVMs. I checked another lab that contains MSS, DSS , and project specs for both EVMs and noticed the change between them and applied these changes in the lab. The build and the flashing had been done normally but I got an error "Start sensor error with -1".

I tried to run the lab in the debug to see what happens,I received the following errors (Error: MMWDemoDSS Unable to open the ADCBUF driver. Error : MMWDemoDSS Data Path init failed with Error [-1]).

Important note : When I also tried to rebuild this lab (without any modification in the files), I received the same errors. I don't know why the bin file of AWR1642 attached with the lab runs normally but the generated bin file after building does not work although the DSS and MSS projects are successfully built.

Thanks,
Abdelrahman

  • Hi Abdelrahman,

Let me check the same experiment at my end and get back to you with solution.

  • Hi Abdelrahman,

I have built lab10 (vod_vital_signs_16xx_mss) in CCS where it is by default connected with SDK 3.2 version.

And flashed xwr18xx_ccsdebug.bin (from SDK 3.2) to the device in SOP-5 mode.

Post the loading and running the MSS and DSS image from CCS is fine without any error even from GUI I am able to send CLI commands.

You need to do this experiment with same version to verify. Or do the stepping in the code/library to get know the breaking point in the application.
