AWR1243: AWR1243P pin handing

Part Number: AWR1243
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH,

Hi,

My customer is trying to create their custom board using AWR1243P(s) and they have some questions about pin handing.

1. They can't find SOP pins on AWR1243P datasheet. Which pins are corresponding to SOP[2:0] ? Also, the pin state for flashing mode (via uniflash) and normal operating mode is not mentioned when releasing the reset.

2. Is it okay to open P1/P2/P3/R2/C13/C14 pins as the datasheet suggests in Figure 7-3 AWR1243 Reference Schematic? Not exactly sure about the purpose of these pins.

3. I believe JTAG related pins can be floating because these are only ti internal use. Correct ?

Best Regards,
NK

  • Hello NK,

    >>1. They can't find SOP pins on AWR1243P datasheet. Which pins are corresponding to SOP[2:0] ? Also, the pin state for flashing mode (via uniflash) and >>normal operating mode is not mentioned when releasing the reset.

Please refer to the AWr1243 datasheet ( http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/awr1243.pdf) page 13 for details on SOP pin and the state they need to be in for flashing and functional modes.

    >>2. Is it okay to open P1/P2/P3/R2/C13/C14 pins as the datasheet suggests in Figure 7-3 AWR1243 Reference Schematic? Not exactly sure about the >>purpose of these pins.

As stated in the table table 4-1 in the datasheet these pins are for TI's internal debug test and debug  purpose. They can be left unconnected.

    >>3. I believe JTAG related pins can be floating because these are only ti internal use. Correct ?

yes, JTAG pins can be left unconnected.

  • Hello Vivek,

Thank you for your quick reply. It seems like no statement in the datasheet (lit number :JAJSEW2A) found in TIJ homepage. Yes, I found the statement in your datasheet now. I close the thread.

    Best Regards,
