AWR1843: Why is the z-axis(elevation) not 0 when set to Tx2 ?

Part Number: AWR1843

Hi,

There is a phenomenon, I do not know if it is correct ?

The z-xis(elevation) is zero when using 1T4R(Tx1) config.

The z-xis(elevation) is zero when using 1T4R(Tx3) config.

The z-xis(elevation) is NOT zero when using 1T4R(Tx2) config.

How can I deal with this phenomenon ?

Can I ignore the value of the Z axis for 1T4R(Tx2) config?

Thanks.

  • Hi Kris Lin,

The phenomenon is due to the fact that the TX antenna is in the elevation plane. Please look at the TX2 antenna on the AWR1843BOOST , it is slightly offset from the other 2 TX antenna in the elevation direction.

You will need to make below configuration to not using TX2.

    channelCfg 15 5 0

    chirpCfg 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 5
