IWR1843: Migrating from IWR1642 to IWR1843

Part Number: IWR1843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1642, , AWR1642, AWR1843

Hi,

it was mentionded on this forum that "You can run the AWR1642 code as is on the AWR1843" in reference to running AWR1642 demos on the AWR1843 board. Is this also true regarding IWR1642/IWR1843 boards?

Best regards,

    Hello,

It is true that the 1843 is a superset device thus it has the necessary hardware components as well as additional features when compared to the 1642. In this way 1642 code can be made to compatible to the 1843. However this does not mean that you will be able to flash the same binary used on 1642 on an 1843 device. You will need to migrate the code and SDK version to correspond with the 1843 device you are using. Please see this software migration guide for further details: http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/swra656
