LDC2112: LDC 2112 Schematic question

Part Number: LDC2112

Hi Kristin

Regarding the circuit, I have some questions: as following.

Please take a look and advise after your return.

thanks.

1.LDC2112 SCL/SDA can be 3.3V level, but other IO pin only can be 1.8V level right?

2. Is this inductance value from the calculation form?

3. I use IN0 only, can I choose either OUT0 or INT to connect to the MCU for interrupts?

  • Hi Alex.

Thanks for your patience while I was out of office. Here are the answers to your questions:

    1. Yes, you are correct.

    2. Can you clarify which capacitance you'd like to know more about? Would you like to know how we chose the 47pF sensor capacitance value?

    3. Yes, you can choose either for button detection. If you would also like error reporting, you would need to use INTB.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Kristin

Yes, We would like to know why you chose 47pF for sensor capacitance?

Is it depend on the calculator website?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Alex,

We selected this capacitance value to set the sensor frequency, sensor Rp, and sensor Q values to be within the range specified in the electrical characteristics table of the datasheet. These values depend both on the capacitance and the inductance of the sensor.Typically, it is much easier to change this capacitor value than it is to redesign the inductor. If you have a custom coil, I recommend using the Spiral Inductor Designer in the LDC Tools Excel Calculator (which you can find in the FAQ linked below) to estimate a suitable capacitance for your coil.

    Best Regards,
