AMC6821: PWM output shake in software RPM mode

Hi expert,

My customer set setp to 1/256 in DCY RAMP register but when testing, the duty cycle always changed and the error can be as large as 4% which will make the fan very noisy.

Do you have any guide on using a software RPM mode?

What could be the cause?

Hi Sheldon,

I do not see a large variation in the duty cycle using DCY mode. Can you send me schematic and register settings on your set up?
