IWR1443: How to find the Flow direction , flow change and rain fall detection ?

It is a very interesting application. Sensor placement is going to be critical here as the mmWave sensor can provide velocity (known as doppler) information for objects moving toward and away from the sensor. If an object is moving side-to-side with respect to the sensor, then the sensor cannot report this sort of velocity.

Thus I would recommend placing the sensor as parallel as possible with regard to the water stream.

I would recommend ordering either an IWR1443BOOST or both an IWR6843ISK and an MMWAVEICBOOST.

There are many examples you can load on to your EVM that are available on the TI Resource Explorer.

Hi Harish,

You'll want to start with the standard 14xx Out of Box Demo to make sure your EVM is functional. After this the High Accuracy 14xx Lab will be useful for figuring out your range measurements although this lab does not do any doppler processing so you won't be able to detect flow as easily, although you will be able to see this in the original out of box demo.
