IWR6843ISK: Calibration of IWR6843ISK

Part Number: IWR6843ISK

Hi

Whenever I install 6843ISK in a new room with different floor plan and furnitures, shall I calibrate the sensor? If so, how shall I calibrate it. Also, after I calibrate the sensor, I don't want the sensor to report the static targets that exist during the calibration. Is there a way to achieve this purpose?

Thanks!

    Hello Kai,

What are you trying to do? What kind of calibrations are you referring to? Generally it is up to the user to determine what they are trying to calibrate for and therefore the periodicity of the calibration.

If you are using the out of box demo's static clutter removal algorithm there is no calibration associated with it so you do not need to calibrate for that specific scene.

However if you are using the door or area scanner demo with "new static object detection" where objects added to the scene are detected then yes you need to do a scene specific calibration.

For people counting demo, is it possible to use "new static object detection" when new static people is added to the scene?

    Thanks!

    Kai,

I would recommend that you examine the demos as the entire source code is provided.

If you to feed the static detection points into the tracker to track people when they are static, then you will need to modify the source code. You can also refer to the example video to see how, in the current demo, the static points are detected for a person but not used to update the tracker.
