AWR1243: Noise figure in real mode

Hello,

In AWR1243 Datasheet 5.7 RF Specification, it is mentioned that Noise figure @ 76 to 77 GHz is TYP 14 dB.

I assume this value is in complex mode.

In real mode there is 3 dB degradation from complex mode, so the Noise figure is increased to 17 dB.

Is my understanding correct?

Hello Shibata,

That is correct, there will be a degradation of roughly 3dB in real mode. We recommend using the complex 1X mode instead of real only mode.
