TMP422: Standard versus extended temperature range

Part Number: TMP422

There is some confustion on page 11 of the data sheet. In section "Temperature Measurement Data" it states data may be taken over an operating temperature range of -40C to +127C for both local and remote locations. Very next sentence states "measurements from -55 to +150C can be made both locally and remotely by reconfiguring the TMP4XX for the extended temperature range." And then table 1 is as shown/attached:

I do not care about the upper end and do not want to take the time in startup to reconfigure the temperature sensor. In standard mode will the device give Two's compliment values below -50C and up two +127C (regardless of the additional error that is not spec'd but is expected at these temperature ranges)?

In standard mode the table is correct.  You will get 2's compliment for temperatures below 0 down to 0xC0 (-64 °C) and positive temperature readings up to 0x7F (127 °C)

    Thanks,
