MMWAVE-STUDIO: [mmWaveStudio 02.01.00.00] Running PostProc GUI without AWRxxxx + DCA1000 EVM

Part Number: MMWAVE-STUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843BOOST

Hello,

I looked document mmwave_studio_cascade_user_guide.pdf in mmWaveStudio 02.01.00.00, and found we can run Post Processing with the data already captured from a previous session.

The instruction is desrived in “8.2.2 Standalone processing (done in a different session from configuration and capture)”

Here are installation steps I did:

- Run mmWave Rada Studio 02.01.00.00 installer

- Install Matlab Runtime Engine (32-bit Version 8.5.1)

- Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package

Here are steps for Post Processing:

- Run mmWaveStudio 02.01.00.00 runtime (without AWRxxxx EVM + DCA1000 EVM connection)

- Selected “SensorConfig” tab

- Cleared .bin file path and click on “PostProc” button

- (On Post Processing GUI) : Click “Load.log” and select “adc_data_log.log” previously captured

Then, I faced below error.

The dialog says I need to install LabVIEW runtime engine for HSDCProAutomation.

But I did not installed HSDCPro as I’m not using TSW1400 EVM.

Please let me know how to resolve this issue?

Thanks & Regards,

-Shibata

  • Hi Shibata,

To our notice, this has never been seen before because they are two completely unrelated things. Post processing just requires the installation of Matlab Runtime engine.

Have you faced this issue previously or is it the first time you're post processing already captured files? And are you getting the same issue if tried on a different machine?

One thing you can do is reinstall studio on your machine and try again.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hi Ishita,

I tried it again with another PC.

When connecting AWR1843BOOST and DCA1000 to the PC, and following the standard steps (capturing RAW data and run PostProc), the PostProc works fine.

Without AWR1843BOOST and DCA1000, running PostProc after clearing .bin file path, I saw the same runtime error.

Could you please confirm if you can see the same observation?

    Thanks,

    -Shibata

  • Hello Ishita,

I found out the root cause of the issue.

It’s due to my wrong operation.

In Post Processing GUI, I clicked on “load .log” on the toolbar, and selected “adc_data_log.log”, *NOT* “adc_data_LogFile.txt”.

With this .log file, I saw the LavVIEW runtime engine error.

If I selected “adc_data_LogFile.txt”, I saw no error.

Now I will close this thread.

Thank you for your support on this.
