AWR1443: AWR1443 + MMWAVE-SDK version 3.3 = incompatibility?

Hi to all,

we recently purchased a AWR1443BOOST EVM and downloaded the MMWAVE-SDK version 3.3. In the MMWAVE-SDK webpage, it says that this sdk version is compatible with AWR1443 (check at http://software-dl.ti.com/ra-processors/esd/MMWAVE-SDK/latest/index_FDS.html).

The problem is that I cannot locate the mmwave demo visualizer locally in my PC and in the folder ...\mmwave_sdk_03_03_00_03\packages\ti\demo . In there, I can only see the demos for xwr16xx, xwr18xx, xwr64xx and xwr68xx.

Furthermore, when using the online mmwave demo visualizer app (v. 3.3) (available at https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/mmwave/mmWave_Demo_Visualizer/ver/3.3.0/ ) , there is no option for AWR1443 either.

So, my questions are: does mmwave-sdk version 3.3 support awr1443? And if yes, how can I locate and use the mmwave demo visualizer app version 3.3?

Hi Stelios,

mmWave SDK 2.1 is a compatible version for the AWR1443 device. That's the last and LTS (long term support) version for this device variant.

it is stated that AWR1443 and AWR1443BOOST are supported by MMWAVE-SDK version 3.3 ?

Oh, I missed providing full detail. SDK 2.1 was the last version which provides the demo and driver for xWR1443. Whereas later version (SDK 3.3) still provides the driver/libraries for xWR1443.

That's the reason you see xWR1443 devices listed as a supported device under SDK 3.3 webpage. You can write a new application or port old demo with SDK 3.3 version considering all compatibility with the latest driver/library APIs.
