IWR6843: IWR6843: azimuth and elevation angle resolutions of ISK vs ODS

Part Number: IWR6843

Hello,

We are trying to figure out the choice between 2 boards - IWR6843ISK and IWR6843ISK-ODS. Our applications is people tracking while it's mounted on a wall with operation range ~6-7 meters.

The ODS board is designed for a overhead mount and has a wider FOV in elevation. But we are wondering if it would still be appropriate to use it for a wall mount applications?

If comparing ODS to ISK board, could you please provide what are the angular resolutions of both? From going over the documentation, it looks like the ISK board azimuth angular resolution is ~15 degrees. Is that correct? Does the ODS board have worse resolution because of the antenna pattern? What is the value? 30 degrees?

Could you also provide the values for the elevation resolution for the both boards?

Thank you!

  • Hello,

For people tracking wall mounted application IWR6843ISK is best suited.

Yes, Your comment is right, for the IWR6843ISK azimuth Angular resolution is ~14 deg, and elevation angular resolution is ~57 deg.

for ODS EVM Azimuth/Elevation angular resolution is ~28 Degrees, This is mainly due to antenna position on the ODS EVM it's equal in both Azimuth and Elevation direction.

    Thanks and regards,
