AWR1642BOOST-ODS: Height of a person measurement with AWR1642BOOST-ODS

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST-ODS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1443

Is it possible to measure the height of a person with AWR1642BOOST-ODS EVM?

  • Hi,

This is possible if there are reflections from the top of the body.

If the person is moving there is a much higher chance to get reflections than if the person is static.

    thank you

  • Hi Cesar,

Thanks. is there any demo code for height measurement(as there are one 'Out of the box' demo for AWR1443)? and what about the setup? where should the EVM be placed?is it possible to attach the EVM vertical to the Ground(on a wall) and measure the height of a target moving towards or around the EVM?

  • Hi

the best demo would be the oob demo.

Yes, the evm should be attached on wall.

    Please perform some tests

    thank you

  • Hi Cesar,

thanks for the reply. i tried the oob demo but when i try to import the project to IDE the rx_ch_bias_measure.c and the rx_ch_bias_measure.h files are missiing and there is a error. where can i find those files?

    thanks

  • Unfortunately the oob demo does not come with a project.

You would need to create CCS projectspecs for mss and dss.

The easiest way is to start with an existing projectspec and modify it.

All the demos provided in the TI Resource Explorer mmWave Sensors have a projectspec

There are many resources regarding creating projectspecs.

Please use google site search: "site e2e.ti.com mmwave ccs projectspec"

    Thank you
