DCA1000EVM: Putting AWR 1243 Boost and DCA 1000 EVM in test mode

Part Number: DCA1000EVM

Using AWR 1243 Boost and DCA 1000 EVM, we have thing running and have operated it in the radar mode but we now want to operate it as a receive only mode and we believe that it needs to be put into the test mode to operate in the receive mode only. Having trouble trying to find how to put the unit into the test mode. Can you help give us some insight as to how to do this.

You will need to turn off all the Tx in the mmWave Studio GUI configuration or LUA script.

There are so many things associated with the transmitter including chirp things. Do we also eliminate everything associated with the chirp as well. Also, the output is always periodic. How can I get the receive mode to have a continuous output without any frame association.

Hello Don,

If you are using the mmwave studio in the static config tab do not select any of the TX . To use a the device in continuous mode you can a "ContStream" tab in the mmwave studio which can be used. Note that upto 2GB of data can be captured in continuous mode.

Unfortunately, the group has not been able to get back into the lab to follow your last instructions because the school has been closed down because of the corona virus.
