Hi,

I am trying to run people counting lab from mmwave industrial toolbox4.0.1 on awr1843 through ccs, and I imported 18xx project and build it successfully.

When i open the GUI and gave the default configuration , it thowing configuration error,Can you tell me the reason for the error?

Hi,

The message indicates that the profile configuration is not correct for 18xx.

Are you trying to run this version?

mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_0_1\labs\people_counting\16xx_people_counting

You will need to modify the 60GHz chirp configuration to match 77GHz. Usually only the Start Frequency and the Slope must be modified.

After making these changes, let;s see if there is anything else needed.

Since people counting application is not supported on the AWR devices, there is no porting guide

Did the changes to match 77GHz, i took the configuration(best velocity resolution) from ti demo visualizer, but it is giving the same error.

Any other war to use people counting lab(any other version) on awr1843?

the following config is given

profileCfg 0 77 115 7 15 0 0 100 1 64 9142 0 0 30
chirpCfg 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1
chirpCfg 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 4
chirpCfg 2 2 0 0 0 0 0 2
frameCfg 0 2 128 0 100 1 0

and previously i used people counting lab version 4.1 for awr1642 but i didnt face any such issues.

Anyways,

Error 3108 means there is an issue with profileCfg.

Subsys 36 means "PF_FREQ_START_CONST is not within [76, 81] GHz"

Please check the following:

Ensure you are sending the updated configuration.
If 1 is good, change both the DSS and MSS project properties to define SOC_18xx (I just checked the projectspecs and these were defined, but potentially something got messed up in the CCS environment.)

Hi Justin,

There was some error in chirp configuration,so the error got resolved by giving chirp configuration as follows:

chirpCfg 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1
chirpCfg 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 4

instead of

chirpCfg 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1
chirpCfg 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 4
chirpCfg 2 2 0 0 0 0 0 2

And I have one more query can we run 3d people count demo (available in industrial toolbox 4.2) or any 3d people counting demo on awr1843? If yes, what should the profile and chirp configurations?

Hi Archana,

You will need to recompile the code. It is fairly straightforward:

In the projectspec (both DSS and MSS), replace -DSOC_XWR68XX with -DSOC_XWR18XX
In the mss projectspec, change the post build step to use the 18xx firmware.

It may be helpful for you to check Toolbox 4.1, and compare the 68xx and 18xx projectspecs in the people counting demo there.

Hi Archana,

Correct, use the 4.2 version. 4.1 is just to reference the projectspecs.

I did the changes you mentioned,with the changes MSS is building successfully but getting some linking errors when i build DSS, please help me in resolving the following errors

Hi Archana,

You are just missing an include somewhere. Please check where System_printf is defined and make sure that file is linked to your project. It was successfully linked before, so it should be easy to find where this is defined.
