IWR6843ISK: Test both antennas(IWR6843ISK) at the same time

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Hi sir
When I test two sets of antennas at the same time, at the same position and at the same height, the CFG parameters are set the same, and whether the two sets of antennas will interfere with each other. Is the test result correct?

  • HI, there:

When you have two antenna set facing the same way, you will not have a direct line of sight interference.  But it is still possible to get a reflected interference.  Which means the transmit signal of EVM-A can be reflected by a target and be seen by the EVM-B.

But this type of interference is not very strong.  Since you have programmed the two EVM the same configuration, the type of interference is called parallel interference, and the probability of parallel interference is rare.

You can learn more about radar interference from this training video:  https://training.ti.com/managing-interference-fmcw-radar-systems
