CCS/IWR6843: Only tuning freqSlopeConst parameters of profileCfg , ( The position drift Issue) : Toolbox 4.2.1 HAVC lab

Part Number: IWR6843

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Dear TI

# We only tuning the P8 of profileCfg  from  28.42 to 38 , It 's define is range resolution setting but after we try the tracked target 's location

is NG (Drifted) . We tuning this freqSlopeVar for range resolution is ok or need other parameter to be tuned for this ?

  • Hi Agate,

This will change range resolution, as well as maximum range. When the target is drifting, you mean it is moving on its own, when the person is not moving, or something else?

    Regards,

    Justin

  • Dear TI

but location position at angle have some different at different position. How to keep the same ?

    BR

  • Hi Agate,

I apologize, I do not understand what the problem is.  Could you describe the error you are seeing?

    Regards,

    Justin

  • Dear Justin

At Gtracking best range resolution setting can not improve the tracked taget position accuracy .

We have verify from big range resolution to small setting , big is better than small .

Have any parameter need to be tuning for best resolution setting to improve tracked target location accuracy ?

    BR

  • Hi Agate,

We have measured that location accuracy with the tracker using range resolution around 7 or 8 cm is within 27 cm of target.  We don't have any parameters that can be tweaked to modify the position accuracy, this is just based on the tracker estimating position based on past state and present detections.

    Regards,

    Justin

  • Dear TI

                  Understand your informaton.

Do you have test the  tracking location & real location max range variation ?  If have can share .

    BR

  • Hi Agate,

In our tests, if a track is more than 0.75 meters from the real location, we would count it as a miss. So within the accuracy numbers we define, the largest error would be 0.75 meters. Typically, we see an average of about 0.25 m error.

    Regards,

    Justin
