AWR2243: Recommendation for better Fanout Buffer for 40 MHz clock and Sync

Part Number: AWR2243
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK00804B

Is there a recommendation for better Fanout Buffer perhaps differential clk and single-ended Fanout Buffer for sync in case of cascaded AWR2243 configuration from single master?

I'd like to connect more than 4 AWR2243-s slaves.

Thanks,

Lauri

  • Hello Lauri,

On our cascade design () we have used LMK00804B buffer for fanning out the clocks, this supports upto 4 outputs. You can look for similar buffers with more outputs on the TI webpage.

    regards,

    Vivek

  • Dear Vivek,

The 2:4 used on the TI x4 cascade board has the following spec:
    – Additive jitter: 0.1-ps RMS (typical) at 40 MHz
    – Output skew: 35 ps (maximum)
    – Part-to-part skew: 550 ps (maximum)
What's the tolerance TI considers acceptable for the skew and part-to-part skew spec in a cascade setup?
    Thanks,
    Lauri
