HDC1000: why HDC1000 output wrong?

Hi,

customer use HDC1000 as below sch:

They tested 8 pcs.

4pcs of them work well as below:

while the rest of 4pcs output as below:

it cannot show the real humility and temperature.

is there any reason for that?

    Hi Yuan,

    Thank you for your post. I have a few questions that may help find the issue:

    • Is there at least a 15ms delay after start up (VDD  > 2.7V) before taking the reading?
    • Does this unit always fail to return a reading?
    • Can you get an oscilloscope or logic analyzer capture of the I2C traffic to the failing unit?
    • How long is the delay between the triggering of the conversion and taking the reading? 

    I suspect this is a timing issue, since there is some variability in the startup and conversion times from device-to-device it could lead to behavior like what is seen here.
