Dear TI

what is the TX Output Power setting range of mmwave radar ? The unit is dbm ?

And 0 means 0 db , - 2 means -2db ?

1~20 meter application and detect target is people which range is ok

100 meter application and detect target is people which range is ok

need setting RX gain in the same time , how to tuning is better ?

HI, there:

The TX full power is 12dBm. And then you can set the TX backoff to get to lower output power for each antenna.

To detect people within 20 meters should not be a problem for IWR1843. But to reach 100 meter will be hard, you can try the TX beamforming idea to increase the value further. An example is giving at http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AB8Rxv0tvZ0j0UT8TiJ8Fw__VLyFKFf__LATEST

We usually suggest to maximize the TX power to get the best SNR unless there are limitation in the regulation.

For RX gain, you can try to set the maximum gain to get the best SNR unless you start to see clipping.

Cfg setting 0 means setting up 0 db ?

Engineer always need setting value for test and experinment can share the TX and RX gain setting range ? (min ~ max)

Yes, TX backoff = 0 means 0dB backoff from 12dBm full power.

You can find the Doxygen documentation on TX backoff below:

The maximum backoff is 30dB backoff.
