MMWCAS-RF-EVM: configuration code for AWR2243

Part Number: MMWCAS-RF-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA2, MMWCAS-DSP-EVM, AWR1243, AWR2243

Hi,

I developed an application on the AWR1243 cascade board connected to the TDA2 MMWCAS-DSP-EVM , and everything is ok.

Then I bought a second RF board equipped with the AW2243. I hoped that everything would have worked without any change in the software, but it didn't : only one of the NRESET leds turns on and I don't get any output data from the board.

Is there any source code available for configuring the RF board ? In the latest realease folder of the SDK (PROCESSOR_SDK_RADAR_03_08_00_00) I found only the AWR12xx configurations ...

Thank you,

Sara Salvador

  • Hi,

    You are correct.

AWR2243 requires new firmware which has not been released yet.

There is work in progress, however the release date is not available yet.

In the meantime please continue using the AWR1243P based board

    thank you
    Cesar

  • Hi,

Any update on the AWR2243 firmware ?   I have to deliver the AWR1243 prototype this week and I don't have another one to keep working...

    Regards,

    Sara

  • Hi Sara,

There is no update to the Processors SDK at this point.

But to be more specific, the AWR2243 firmware is already provided as part of the MMWCAS-DFP-2G package here: http://software-dl.ti.com/ra-processors/esd/MMWAVE-DFP-2G/latest/index_FDS.html. We have not released a version of the Processors SDK with this firmware integrated.

But a first step to that would be to swap out the C:\ti\PROCESSOR_SDK_VISION_03_07_00_00\ti_components\radar\mmwave_dfp_01_02_00_00 component with the new mmwave_dfp_02_01_05_03 from the MMWCAS-DFP-2G package.

I believe the SDK references the mmwave_dfp_01_02_00_00\firmware\xwr12xx_metaImage.h. So that should be changed to reference the latest xwr22xx_metaImage.h.

Most functions should work as-is, but it would require additional experimentation to make sure all functionality you need is preserved.

    Thank you,
