Hi,

In order for the RF lab test and production line test purpose, I need to set the IWR1843 into CW mode. I know the mmWave Studio tool can do this, but I will need the easier CLI method due to lab or factory engineers might not be able to install the mmWave Studio.

I tried to modify the cfg file to enable the continuous mode, and set the freq to 77GHz for 0 slope as below (detail commands are attached in "CLI for CW mode.txt" file). But the IWR1843 doesn't output anything.

Is there any commands missing?

HI,

I did not realize that SDK support continuous mode, did you added it yourself?

If you can program the regular chirp with zero slope using profileCfg , it is probably better.

In addition what puzzles me is that if you program to continuous mode using contModeCfg, why you program the profile/chirp/frames first?

Hi Zigang,

No, it seems the SDK doesn't support CW mode. Thus we just try-and-error to add some parameters in the profileCfg but all failed without seeing any waveform from spectrum.

I need the help to know how to make a correct procedure from profileCfg.

Or, can I use any RF evaluation FW instead of SDK FW to run the CW mode?

Again, we don't want to use mmWave Studio GUI.

Can you program the chirp slope in profileCfg to be zero? Then it becomes zero slope chirp based chirp.

Hi Jesse,

CW mode is not implemented/tested in the mmw demo and hence not supported. Please refer to the following thread which provides a way to modify the SDK mem capture test to generate and capture CW mode data. The provided changes relate to SDK 3.2.0.6_AOP but you can make the same changes in the latest SDK as well.
