AWR1642BOOST-ODS: Virtual antenna placement and heatmap surface

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST-ODS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, DCA1000EVM, AWR1642BOOST

Hi,

I am working on the heatmap calculation using awr1642 boost ods and dca1000evm. I capture the data and process offline. I conduct fft and beaming to plot the range-azimuth heatmap. I met the following problems.

1. I m using 2tx and 4 rx MIMO mode to capture data. I got 8*radar cube already. i am trying to select virtual antenna lines to process. I found the following setup on the obstacle detection demo website and the virtual antenna looks like this.

however, in tidue83.pdf, it looks different, like this.

So if I am going to plot range azimuth heatmap with beamforming. should I choose virtual antenna 4-8 as 1st figure shows or [3,5,7] + [4,6,8] as 2nd figure shows?

2. I noticed that for AWR1642boost ods, the antenna placement is different. It is like 45 degrees tilt. So when I trying to match my heatmap to real-world objects. Should i also tilt my plot 45 degrees?

Thanks in advance
