AWR1642: Peak at the farthest range bin

Hello,

Could you let me know the reason why the peak appear at the farthest range bin like below picture?
The URL/link below say power from the DC FFT bin wraps around to the last FFT bin.
But I would like to know more in detail about the mechanism of the above phenomenon.

Sorry for the delay

This is due to spectral leakage in the FFT.

If a frequency component in the signal does not fall exactly at the FFT frequency bin there would be leakage into the adjacent FFT bins. In the case of DC (zero frequency bin) the “adjacent” FFT bin is the last range-bin.
