Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible to use this board to just receive signals and not transmit them. I basically need to create a DIY spectrum analyzer to receive signals in the 76-80 GHz. I have a mmWave transmitter and receiver and want to be able to detect the strength of the communication link between them. Also, would I need to attach it to the DAC100EVM board to able to capture the rf signal data?

Hello YaYa,

For this case you need to disable all the Tx from channelConfig API & only enable Rx blocks.

With this setting, you can try capturing the data using DCA1000EVM to achieve your task.

Thanks for your help. Just a quick follow up question, can the receiver read I/Q data samples? Or what is the data type that it can read?

Hello YaYa,

AWR device support complex data (I/Q) sample. And same can be capture using DCA1000.

Using mmWave Studio you can capture and process the raw data.

And refer the matlab script to do the basic processing
