Hello,

Would it be possible to get a description as to what the QSPI flash modules are being used for on the cascade evaluation module? Is this for debug purposes? What functionality would they provide for a production board?

The firmware patch is usually flashed on the memory.

If flash is not available this patch would have to be downloaded through SPI. This method is functionally valid but it will take longer than loading from flash.

In some applications this delay is not acceptable

Is this the firmware that is loaded every time the chips are powered on? What kind of a time difference are we looking at with spi vs flash?

Hi,

Please check the datasheet for Flash and SPI clock. I think the flash is about 10 times faster
