TDC7201-ZAX-EVM: The PC can not recognize the TDC7201EVM and Msp430f5529LP

Part Number: TDC7201-ZAX-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC7201

Dear TI,

I just bought  a TDC7201EVM and MSP430f5529LP,   but when I make them work together.  something goes wrong.

First , when I open the TDC7201EVM  GUI software,  it reminds me to check the serial port number.

Thus the BSL download  part shows  "can not detect the sevice", either.

The datasheet says that, when everything gets ready. The TDC 7201 driver will be shown in the Device Manager.

However , in my case , the TDC7201EVM driver does not appear.

Then I try to  load the  TXT file through CCS , and  a serial USB device  COM12 appear instead of the TDC7201 .

it shows a USB serial device (COM12).

How can I make it work ,could you  please help ?   Best wishes.

  • Added ,The first time I  press the BSL button all the time when I download the program TDC720x firmware~.txt   to the msp430f5529LP  and TDC7201EVM.

Then my PC warn me that the device is different  from the previous one ,and can not recognize any more.

That is why I turn to CCS,  trying to  load the txt file through CCS

The USB Serial Device (串口设备) at COM12 is the COM you must manually select in the GUI. The GUI does not always automatically detect the correct COM port at GUI statrt-up, which is why it initially reports a failure.

To manually connect, go to the SETUP tab page of the GUI, click the drop down arrow, and select COM12. Then click the CONNECT button. If the connection is successful, then you will see a message at the bottom of the GUI reporting "Connect Successful!".
