CCS/IWR6843ISK: IWR6843ISK with MMWAVEICBOOST board- Error Connecting to the target , Unable to access the DAP

Hi Beerappa,

To start with basic things, could you please check the following user guide for the 68xx ISK - mmWave SDK Demo Lab under Industrial Toolbox 

68xx ISK - mmWave SDK Demo - HWA Version

1. Verify the Switch and Jumper settings as shown in the Physical Setup section
2. Make sure that you are connecting the USB cable to the XDS110 USB port as shown

Please follow the instructions provided in the above lab and get back with your observations.

Hi Nitin,

I followed the  user guide for the 68xx ISK - mmWave SDK Demo Lab under Industrial Toolbox 

68xx ISK - mmWave SDK Demo - HWA Version.

My observations are as follows.

1) Verified the Switch(MUXES) and Jumper(SOP) settings as shown in the Physical Setup section

2) XDS110 USB port is connected properly.

3) While flashing the bin using UniFlash ; COM Port is not connecting as shown in the below image 

(NOTE : FYI DS2 LED in the MMWAVEICBOOST board is not ON)

Hi Beerappa,

Could you please make sure that 

1. You are using a power adapter which is rated for 3A i.e. 5V/3A? We have seen such issues with under-rated power supplies.

2. That you press the NRST switch after connecting the power supply.

3. Please run the pre-compiled binaries before getting into CCS debug method. So please flash the pre built binaries provided in the lab.

4. If unable to flash as you have shown in your error message, please check that the Uniflash process "flashPythonSubprocess.exe" is not hung-up on your Windows Machine from the previous failed Uniflash attempt. The easy way to make sure it is killed is to disconnect the USB cable and re-connecting it after one Uniflash attempt. You should see a Windows message that the above process was killed, but if not, please manually kill it in Windows Task Manager and then retry (make sure you power cycle and press NRST after a failed attempt).

Hi Nitin,

As your suggestions, i checked everything as listed below

1.Power adapter is 5V/3A.

2.Pressed the NRST switch after connecting power supply

3. Flashing error is same as prevous" COM Port is not connecting " 

4. Uniflash is checked as you stated above.

Once  again i got the  same debug error  that is " Error : Connecting to the target , Unable to access the DAP"

(NOTE : FYI DS2 LED in the MMWAVEICBOOST board is not ON)

Hi Beerappa,

Could you please also share pictures of your MMWAVEICBOOST + antenna module (plugged-in) with power and USB connected to show the LEDs that are lit-up on the MMWAVEICBOOST and Antenna Module?

Thanks for the pictures. We're looking into this but just to be sure, could you please confirm the following?

1. That you're able to see the device COM ports in the Windows Device Manager? and and have the XDS110 driver installed as mentioned in the 68xx ISK - mmWave SDK Demo Lab under Industrial Toolbox?

2. That you have entered the correct COM port (User/UART i.e. control COM port) in the Uniflash Settings Tab?
