I want to use Serial flash IS25LP016D-JBLE for replace with MXIC MX25V1635FZNQ.

So, Is IS25LP016D-JBLE compatible with IWR6843?

Please refer below link for supported flashes

Above flash seem to be from the same family of IS25LP series but only density is different, Hence it should be compatible.

However, we have not tested this flash, would recommend to test it on existing EVM before you could go further.

Is there a specific reason you want to switch the flash?

Hi CHETHAN KUMAR Y.B., the pdf you mention in pag 3 says:

"Supported flash parts for xWR1642 ES2.0,xWR1842 ES1.0,xWR1443 ES3.0,and IWR6843 ES1.0& ES2.0 devices."

But what about the AWR1843, are these flash parts compatible with this device too?, we want to replace the MX25V1635FZNQ because it is an obsolete part.

Sorry but compatible means that we don´t have to modify the drivers or they are just hardware compatible?, the question is because in the IDE I can see .c files for this three manufacturers but just two of them are in the table of the pdf

It's compatible from boot-loader perspective, During the boot loading process ROM boot loader loads the image from the external flash, It requires certain protocols, timing parameters are need to be adhered to. However from the software perspective, If there are further changes that you want to perform such as storing some additional data into external QSPI flash device then you may need to driver level changes that need to be looked into for specific flash.

I don´t want to store additional data, I will choose another macronix flash from the list you provide me and just want to know if the drivers are the same or I need to change them

I have checked with the Flash vendor from Macronix for MX25V1635FZNQ part, they have confirmed, they are not obsoleting this part and they would support it. They will work with Digikey to address this problem.

However you could choose other flash as well from the supported flash family, drivers would be the same.
