TMP117: I2C data rate out of specifications

Hello,

Does the TMP117 will work properly at 415kHz?

I have tried with the evaluation board and it works perfectly. I assume that 400kHz is the maximum but with some tolerances.

Hi SBEN,

The TMP117 was validated with frequencies significantly faster than 400kHz, but the design target was I2C Fast Mode (400kHz) operation. It would likely support the FM+ spec, but we cannot guarantee.

But if the clock datarate is slightly above the design target (as my 415 kHz mentioned) would the operation still be guaranteed for extended period of time?

Hi SBEN,

I cannot make any guarantee beyond what is specified in the product's datasheet. I expect that TMP117 will work for you at 415kHz. If you have an example of TMP117 not working, please share it so we can discuss it.
