Dears

We need a solution to have the resolution of 50fF with base of 50pF capacitor, and update rate upto 10ksps. we are looking for the FDC2112, FDC2212, not sure if this device can support or not? So we are looking for your help to see if this can support. and also if not, is there some more solutions?

    Hi Jun,

    The FDC2112 will be a challenge in implementing a 0.01% resolution for a base of 50pF. At such capacitance levels noise in the system takes over. The sensor design and the coil design presents challenges to achieve such resolution. The FDC2112 does not have active shielding so its very likely that it can pick up system noise. We typically see the FDC2112 used for liquid level detection for medium accuracy levels and for proximity sensing. 

    I would recommend to try products from Captivate group to see if they can support your request.
