IWR6843: IWR6843BOOST: mmwave studio RESP TIMEOUT/PROTOCAL ERROR after triggering frame

Hi,

I am using mmwave studio 2.0.0.2 with IWR6843

It has worked fine for several months.

However, these days, errors started to show up when I pressed the "Trigger Frame" button.

(No error show up before pressing this button)

The errors are sometimes "RESP TIMEOUT", and sometimes "PROTOCOL ERROR", like below figures.

HI,

You have been using an older version of the radar studio version. Do you have a xwr6843 ES1 board?

I have experience similar problem before. And sometimes, the next day, things get back to normal. Can you check the DCA1000 sw2 setting to see whether it matches the figure below? Can you also check whether you change the power supply?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, I used IWR6843-ODS ES1.0 EVM. Follow the method you provided, but the effect is still not good. When I press the "trigger box" button, these errors are sometimes "RESP timeout", sometimes "protocol error".Is this IWR6843 problem or DCA1000 problem?

For the startFrame command TIMEOUT. The reason for this issue could be that there is not sufficient power to support RF transmission. A power supply 5V/3A should be used. 5V/2.5A may not be sufficient sometimes.
