TMP303: Question about mounting on FPC

Part Number: TMP303

Hi Team,

I have a question about TMP303.

my customer is considering to use TMP303 for battery pack cell temperature monitoring.
Question here is
- Is it ok to use TMP303 on FPC(Flexible Printed Circuits)?
- Is it ok to cover TMP303 with silicone sealant?
- Are there anything we have to care when we use TMP303 on FPC?

Regards,
Kai

Adding silicone sealant could add stress to the TMP303 and may cause a slight drift in accuracy.

Standard good FPC layout practices should be used

    Thanks,

  • Hi Kai,

It is also good to note that placing the TMP303 on a flex board it is good practice to have the leads go in parallel with the bend of the board.

Also, if the customer is trying to use the TMP303 to measure the temperature of something off the flex board they should try to use a sealant that has good thermal conductivity.  Typically silicone sealant has a very poor thermal conductivity.

    Thanks,
    David
