There is a get version command in the document "IWR6843 Bootloader flow". I think it's stand for radar firmware version. Can you please help to tell us how to modify it?

Hi Connor Desmond,

I would like to do radar firmware upgrade, so I need to know the firmware version. It will trigger firmware OTA if the version is different. How to add firmware version into the radar firmware?

1. Do you have an ES1.0 or ES2.0 silicon device?

2. Are you able to run the Out of Box Demo with your current set up?

3. What versions of the SDK and Industrial Toolbox are you using?

1. ES 2.0 device

2. Yes, I can run OOB demo image.

3. The tool box is mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_6_2 and SDK is 3.3.0.3

Can you please make sure that you have SDK version 3.4 as well as Industrial Toolbox version 4.3.2.

Also can you explain what demo you are trying to run? Or if you aren't running one of our labs, can you elaborate on why you need to upgrade the firmware.

Dear user5970442:

Located in the SDK there is a secondary boot-loader that allows you to upload new firmware upon reset, and if none is loaded standard firmware of your choice will be used. Here is a path to the documentation:

Dear C.W.:

There is no way to add/change firmware information to the meta image which is flashed to the device. You will have to place version information into your software. The SDK version is set in the Out of Box demo in the file: mmwave_cli.c. where the SDK version is manually coded in.

rlDeviceGetMssVersion() in rl_device.c (line 424) has the following function description:

"Get mmWave Master SS version. This API is valid only for AWR1243 mmWave
device when mmWaveLink instance is running on External Host Processor. "

Thus this function will not work for your setup.
