IWR6843ISK-ODS: fovCfg in detecting human falls

Part Number: IWR6843ISK-ODS

In the 68xx - 3D people counting lab, fovCfg is set as -1 70.0 20.0. The elevation angle is limited in 20 degrees. Since I am trying to detect human falls using ISK-ODS, the elevation range may be not enough. I was wondering if I can increase the elevation angle without exceed the memory limitation.

Hi Kai,

You can set the FOV to 60 and 60. If this uses too much memory and the device crashes, you can increase the size of each angle bin, using the dynamicRangeAngleCfg -1 0.75 0.0010 1 0 command.The bold argument in the step size, right now it is at 0.75 degrees, Increasing this will lower memory requirements.

Does 0.75 have the unit of degree or radian? In 3DPeoplecountingDemo_ConfigurationDetails.pdf, it mentions that "user should also adjust guardWinSize2 in cfarCfg when changing this parameter". Is there a rule of thumb to adjust guardWinSize2?

Hi Kai,

The unit is degree - if you double the step size (go to 1.5 from 0.75) you should have the guardWindSize2

Double the step size means from 0.75 to 1.5, right? In this case, have the guardWindSize2 in half?
