AWR1642: EVM

Part Number: AWR1642

Hello Sir/Madam,

I wish to use AWR1642 EVM for a range about 75 meters. Can you please send a configuration file? I wish to achieve Table 2: Chirp configuration given in "Short Range Radar Reference Design Using AWR1642.pdf"

Can you please share description of the fields in the configuration file? How the values of various fields are being used in the "Automotive Tool Box SDK"?

Please reply as soon as possible. I am eager to test it for 75 meters range!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks and regards,

-Omkar Limaye

  • Hello Omkar,

There are many mmwave demo examples in the SDK package which can help you get started on this. You can edit those according to your usecase.  SDK also provides a user guide document (mmwave_sdk_user_guide.pdf) under docs directory to help you understand all the parameters used in the configuration file.

Let me know if you need more information.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hello Madam,

    Thanks for your response.
In mmWave visualizer, maximum unambiguous range I can see is 50m. Does this mean that 75 m is not possible by using mmWave visualizer?
I tried to build the automotive toolbox project (without making any change). It has thrown 10 errors.

  • Hello Omkar,

mmw demo is to showcase basic feature of mmwave sensor, whereas specific complex usecase is being implemented in the TI-Rex labs.

Each of the labs are connected with specific mmwave SDK version and dependency tools, so make sure that you have installed that SDK version first then import the lab application to CCS.

You can post that error here with the TI-Rex application name ro search in the same forum for existing answers.
