AWR1642BOOST: PCB test coupons

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST

Hi,

some of the radar EVMs have a test coupon of two transmission lines etched into the top layer that could be used to measure and verify the dielectric characteristics of the PCB.

What equipment does TI use to actually measure these coupons at 77 GHz? Is it a combination of wafer prober and network analyzer or is there a more integrated solution available?

Best regards

Sebastian

  • Hello Sebastian,

You are right, wafer probes and network analyzer is used for this measurement. These measurements are done around 80Ghz  , so the equipment's, probes etc. should support these frequencies. The probe tips should fit properly in the pad to ground spacing provided in the coupon.

    Regards,
