  • Hello CJ,

Did you try finding some similar threads on the forum? You can use google search for that purpose.

Just type "site e2e.ti.com <your query>". For eg, "Site e2e.ti.com mmwave DLL error"

Below is a thread produced for your reference. Let us know if this works:

  • Ishita,

Thanks for the reply. I did find the entry that you listed.  However, that was for the cascaded DCA1000EVM and AWR1642BOOST.  So, is there a solution when you receive this error when trying to configure the mmWave Studio for the AWR1243, only?

  • Hello CJ,

The steps should be same for both the cases. Did the debug steps mentioned in the above thread fail for you?

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Yes, the debug steps failed.  I ran the FTDI installation routine, and the same results. How can I verify that the driver updates are what they should be for the AWR1243? What routine is calling the radarlinkdll.dll?  Also, should the radarlinkdll reside in the same directory as mmWavestudio executable? Also, is c:\radarstudio\xxx required?  If so, where is the download?

    Thanks,

    CJ

  • Hello CJ,

Our team has seen this issue sometimes post the windows update.

Request you to follow the solution provided in the below thread :

  • Ishita,

The link you referenced is for a different EVM and a problem that I am not having.  I have reposted my previous inquiry for your reference:

  • Hello CJ,

The solution provided in my previous reply is applicable to all the EVMs. At the time when you got this error, mmWave studio doesn't even know which device is connected.

As you are saying, the FTDI drivers were installed by you, but the problem still persists. This error is because the drivers were not installed properly. Could you please clarify if the radar device was connected while opening the mmWaveStudio?

At this point of time, the FTDI drivers get installed automatically if the install was failed the previous time.

    Thanks!

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • The problem is still present regardless of the EVM being connected or not connected.

  • Hello CJ,

Have you used other versions of mmWave studio on this machine or this is the first version?

We suggest you to try this on a different machine as well.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Ishita,

Yes, I have tried configuring a different machine, still a Win 10 OS.  A totally different error was produced.

Thanks for all your help. However, I am moving on to another EVM.  I may return to the AWR1243 at a later date.

  • Hello CJ,

We're sorry we couldn't help you solve your issue. A few days back we faced this same issue because of windows update and all of them were solved using the above method.

Please let us know whenever you plan to return back and we shall be happy to serve :)

    Thanks!
