IWR6843: IWR6843 BPM Configuration

Hello, I want to configure BPM but I don't know how to configure it.

I went through the mmwavestudio guide and there was no instruction for that.

I want to use 3 tx.

I don't understand what start index and end index stand for, and also i don't get it how to configure tx off and tx on values.

As what I understood, I have to switch phases 3 times for every tx, but it doesn't seem to be available.

Please let me know.

Hi, Junyoung:

You can use the profileCfg and chirpConfig to program BPM. You can set different phase in profile configuration for each TX through profileCfg (highlighted in red circle), and you can program the chirp Config to use certain profileID and enable all three TX together.

Thanks for your reply.

I thought I understood the article but I still cannot bring BPM to realization.

First, I tried 2 tx and set the BPM configuration like the above but it seems to be wrong.

Do I have to set configuration for all the chirps in a frame? If I have 256 chirps in a frame, do I have to set BPM for 256 times?

HI,

Are you enable two TX for BPM? Below is an example to use TX1 and TX2. You will need to change accordingly, if you are using other TX combinations.

if so, you will need to create two profileCfg, with one no phase difference, then second one with TX2 have 180 phase change

ar1.ProfileConfig(0, 77, 100, 6, 60, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 29.982, 0, 256, 10000, 0, 0, 30)

ar1.ProfileConfig(1, 77, 100, 6, 60, 0, 0, 0, 0, 180, 0, 29.982, 0, 256, 10000, 0, 0, 30)

Then, you will create two chirpCfg, one using profile 0, and one using prifile 1;

ar1.ChirpConfig(0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 0)

ar1.ChirpConfig(1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 0)

Then, you will create frameCfg, using both chirps, for example:

ar1.FrameConfig(0, 1, 8, 64, 40, 0, 0, 1)
