IWR1443BOOST: mmWaveLink example code from device firmware package (DFP) does not work for IWR1443BOOST

Hi,

I was running the mmwavelink example code to test my newly received IWR1443BOOST. This example code was downloaded from the mmWave device firmware package (DFP).

I have followed the userguide as follows:

1. Connect IWR1443 ES 3.0 devpack and boosterpack to PC;

2. Erase sFlash before running this application;

3. Set the device in functional mode (only SOP0 is connected), and reboot the device;

4. Run mmwavelink_example.exe.

Here is the what the command window prints:

Did I miss any setup before running the application? Could anyone give any suggestions?

Can you provide a picture of your powered board when this error occurs?

Hi Akash,

Thank you again for your reply. Attached is the photo I took when the error occurs.

Note that the "NERR_OUT" LED Indicator is always on once I power on the device. It has nothing to do with the mmwavelink application I was running.

Have you tried while completely detaching the IWR1443BOOST from the DCA1000EVM?

Hi Akash,

I just tried while completely removing DCA1000EVM. Note that only SOP2 is connected, which I believe is corresponding to SOP 4 mode. Here is what I can see from the command window when I run the mmwavelink application (I tried multiple times but it shows the same error):

It appears that this requires an MMWAVE-DEVPACK as per the readme.

This is not mentioned in the user guide, which makes me a little confused.

So this mmwavelink demo is only for the hardware configuration with MMWAVE-DEVPACK+TSW1400?

Hi Akash,

The user guide comes with the MMWAVE DFP installer package, and you can find it in C:\ti\mmwave_dfp_01_02_06_03\docs\mmwave_dfp_user_guide.pdf

For your convenience, the pdf file is attached here. In page 7, you can see that it uses AWR1243BOOST+DCA1000EVM to perform the mmwavelink demo.
