AWR1843: Maximum measured range

Hi,

Can someone clarify this information for AWR1843.

In the datasheet it says that maximum IF bandwidth is 10 MHz. On the other hand, other documents say that in Complex 1x mode, maximum beat frequency is 0.9*Fs so that would be 11.25 MHz for 12.5 MHz which is max allowed.

So my question is: which is the maximum beat frequency in the spectrum, 10MHz or 11.25MHz for this case?

If it is 11.25 MHz, do we have the first [0-1.25MHz] available in range spectrum?

    The maximum IF bandwidth for AWR1843 is 10MHz as specified in the device datasheet. This is a limitation of the hardware. 

    The Interface Control document mentions the 0.9 * sampling rate formula as a "typical" formula. It is just a rough formula to calculate the intermediate IF frequencies. This cannot be used to back calculate the IF BW based on max sampling rate.

    Thank you for your response, that was my assumption also.

    I asked the question primarily because I re-checked some my configurations through TI sensing estimator and played a little in it.

    Can you explain why sensing estimator: for 70m and slope of 24.09 MHz/us says that maximum beat frequency allowed is 11.24 MHz (limit there is 0.9 * Fs as I can see)?

    (This actually mean if 70 m is mapped on 11.24MHz that our real maximum distance is lower and mapped to 10MHz)

    I suppose this is an error in sensing estimator. Could you just confirm my assumptions on this?

    Sorry I somehow missed your response. 

    Yes, there seems to be a formula error regarding this in the sensing estimator. Thanks for the feedback, I'll convey this to our internal team. To be sure on the maximum range, you can also calculate this yourself using the formula.

    There are various threads for this on the forum, and a document as well.
